Welcome to the Class of 2021

Dear Edinburgh MBAs,

We are very pleased you have chosen to share your MBA experience with us.

The 2021/22 academic year starts with many lessons learned from a year of hybrid teaching. As we begin the path back to a more familiar world, we are keen to bring with us some of the sustainable learnings that help us conduct business in new ways and operate as forward-thinking, agile, and empathetic managers. Since the start of our MBA programme in 1980, the world has experienced boom and bust, healthy markets, and pandemic shocks. Through it all, we have helped managers prepare for and navigate whatever may come next, either in the private, public (government), or not-for-profit sectors.

Everyone here is dedicated to helping you get the most out of your experience with us in a safe, collaborative, and encouraging environment. From our core courses to our electives, our exchange partners to our professional development programme, you will have the opportunity to expand your horizons, learn from globally recognised thought leaders, and develop a career strategy that will serve you in an ever-changing world for years to come.

Importantly, you will also learn from your fellow participants who make up one of the most diverse and gender-balanced MBA cohorts in the world. And without a doubt, you will make lifelong friends.

Your MBA is 'triple accredited' by international ranking bodies AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA, and delivers its programme right in the heart of one of the world's foremost and historic global universities, consistently ranked among the top 25 in the world. The Edinburgh name, along with its community of more than 1,500 students, 250 staff, and over 4,000 Edinburgh MBA alumni in almost 100 countries, will help open doors along your career path.

Your studies will be intensive and challenging, but they will also be fun, invigorating and rewarding.

Beyond the school, you’ll spend time in a vibrant, cultural capital, home to the greatest arts festivals in the world, one of the most dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystems globally, and the UK's largest financial centre outside London.

We will build your capacity for critical thinking, strategic and responsible leadership and equip you with the entrepreneurial mind-set we believe will help you propel your career to the next level.

Your studies will be intensive and challenging, but they will also be fun, invigorating and rewarding.

We will be there every step of the way to encourage and support you to extend your knowledge, embrace new experiences, build new relationships and grasp opportunities for growth, professionally and personally.

We look forward to welcoming you onto the MBA.
