UEBS Dean Welcome Event This is the event where the Dean of the Business School will officially welcome you to the Business School and provide you with key information including the incredible things the school has achieved. It will also cover the new measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff, and the ways in which you will be taught in 2021–22.

UG First Year Welcome Event This is the event where we officially welcome all our new undergraduate students to the Business School. All new students should attend this event, as this is where your attendance will be confirmed, and where you will receive:
  • An insight into the Business School community that you are now joining
  • Important information about Personal Tutors
  • Useful information about the student development opportunities available to you
  • An opportunity to meet key members of staff and other new students
  • A chance to meet the BizPALs: the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students who are our Peer Support leaders
Tuesday 14 September

50 Minute Time Slots
Meet Your Fellow Students & Google Problem-Solving Activity You will be assigned a group, a day, and a time to attend the Auditorium in the Business School to undertake a group-based problem solving activity organised by Conor O’Shea from Google. This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow students and staff members in person and undertake a group activity to get you thinking about business challenges.
  • You must only attend your designated time slot as we are only allowed a limited number of students in the Auditorium to comply with social distancing. If you come to a different slot, you will not be able to attend.

Campus Tours with the BizPALs On leaving your group-based activity, you will be taken on a tour of the campus by one of our great BizPALs who will give you great insight into the university and what it is like to study here.

Year 1 International Business Cluster Q&A This session is for those studying International Business and International Business with Arabic, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, or Spanish. This is a live online Q&A session where you will meet with the First Year Heads, as well as students on your particular group of degrees and can ask any questions relating to your studies, including course option courses. This is also a further opportunity to have your attendance confirmed if you were unable to attend a Welcome Event on 13 September.
